Aruba Certified Design Expert (ACDX) certification exam will test your expert skills in designing multi-site, complex Aruba wired and wireless solutions incorporating ClearPass, Airwave. You should have knowledge on requirement gathering, high-level and low-level designs including RF Planning, Redundant High-Density Campus Architecture, location services, Very High Density, and Remote Access Branch office designs.
To become ACDX certified, first you need to pass HPE6-A80 ACDX written exam and then the HPE0-A126P ACDX practical exam. Though there are no prerequisites to apply for HPE6-A80 ACDX written exam, the ideal candidate should have advanced designing skills, requirement gathering skills, and experience with advanced Aruba solutions. You should be able to identify the customer’s business requirements by interviewing the right people and translate those requirements to a set of technical requirements which lead to an accurate technical design.
You may pay attention to the subject areas below, before attempting either ACDX written exam or practical exam:
- You may learn and practice how to interview the right people from the customer’s side to gather requirements and existing functionalities. Based on the information collected, you should be able to formulate a high-level design in order to go for second-level discussions.
- You should have in-depth knowledge of the following and be able to provide detailed designs:
a) High-density Campus Architecture which includes Aruba Mobility Master based mobility controller cluster, AOS and AOS-CX switching, and Clearpass network admission controller.
b)Should have hands-on experience in creating visual RF diagrams using IRIS tool and in-depth knowledge on channel width, channel bonding, channel overlap, and RF Planning.
c)Gain knowledge on wireless LAN designs for very high client density in outdoor stadiums.
d)Explore the methods of providing wireless LAN connectivity to branch sites using Remote Access Points.
e)Learn how to provide location services via Meridian cloud platform using Aruba Bluetooth beacons and asset tags. - Explore and understand Aruba’s best practices for designing wireless networks in challenging RF environments for redundancy and high availability.
- Pay attention to solutions for campus LAN and WLAN, including outdoor and high-density scenarios
Conclusion:
After passing the written exam, you will only have 18 months to pass the ACDX Practical Exam. If you do not pass the ACDX Practical Exam within 18 months then you will have to retake the current ACDX Written Exam. ACDX practical exam (HPE0-A126P) is an eight-hour exam that tests the ability to design a secure wired, wireless, remote access and management solution for an enterprise network using Aruba OS 8.x and Aruba OS-CX Switches. Your design should support redundancy, authentication, and integration with existing infrastructure. You should be very much familiar with creating BoQs, network diagrams, and VRF diagrams for RF planning using the IRIS tool. There will be questions from customers to answer.
